MADRID, Spain – Nissan Formula E Team completed a positive Rookie Test in Madrid, with both simulator and development driver Abbi Pulling and Alpine Racing driver Victor Martins setting strong lap times. Both drivers embarked on an intense test program as the team looks to build on its start to the season. As part of her role with the squad, Pulling has plenty of experience in the Nissan e‑4ORCE 05, which was quickly evident as she was immediately on the pace. The British driver set the eighth-fastest time in the morning session and remained consistent throughout the day, finishing the afternoon in ninth. Following his outing at the Berlin Rookie Test in 2023, Martins made his return to Nissan Formula E Team for the day at Jarama. Experiencing the GEN3 Evo cars for the first time, the French Formula race winner acclimatized to the new machinery in the first session, finishing up 11th on the timesheet. In the afternoon, Martins showed his pace by improving to set the fourth-fastest time. The target for the test was to gain data ahead of the remaining races in Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, with both drivers completing a variety of test items across the two three-hour sessions. The duo undertook race simulations, focusing on energy management, set-up options and more, in both 300 and 350kW power modes. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team: “Today went well, Abbi and Victor had intense programs to complete as we look to build for the rest of the season. It’s great to see both of them in the top-10 this afternoon, even if that was not the main goal of this test. Abbi confirmed her importance to the team with great feedback, helping us to understand and improve on several test items. Meanwhile, it was a pleasure to have Victor back with us. It was his first time in the GEN3 Evo and he showed great performance straight away. We’re very happy as a team, it was a valuable day for us.” Abbi Pulling, simulator and development driver, Nissan Formula E Team: “Today went well, I’m proud of my efforts and really happy to have improved compared to my last time at this track. I hoped to be further up the timesheets in the afternoon session, but I know why I set almost the exact same time, so I can work on that in the simulator. To have two top-10s is a positive result. I’m not quite where I want to be but I felt comfortable in the car instantly and I’m pleased to be making more steps forward.” Victor Martins: “The test was great, I’m really happy to have been back in the car with Nissan Formula E Team. We completed our plan, it was beneficial for me to learn about the systems and find the limit. I tried to give the best feedback possible to the team to help them achieve their goals for the day as well. I also loved driving the car on this track, with the elevation changes and fast corners. I enjoyed the day and thanks to the team!”
